The following new features provide extended capabilities in the Hydrodynamic systems in Workbench:
Linear cable stiffness. You can define the stiffness of a linear elastic cable by the Elastic Modulus, EA.
MCOL Hydrodynamic Database output file option. You can output the hydrodynamic database in a text-based .mco format, which can then be read by the LS-DYNA MCOL solver for further ship grounding and collision event simulation.
Watch Zones. You can add and define Watch Zones for various marine operations. The trajectory of the tracked points with the selected watch zones is displayed in the Stability and Time response analyses. The overshooting statistic results are given for the Hydrodynamic Response Time Domain analysis.
Smaller mass per length. The minimum limit for Mass / Unit Length in a Catenary Section is defined as 0.02% of the defined water density (approximately 0.2 kg/m).
Multi-selection editing. If you select multiple objects of the same type in the Outline tree and make changes in the Details pane, the changes are applied to all selected objects.
Fixed Points in Wave Surface Elevation graph. The Reference Point input, to select the position at which the Wave Surface Elevation is reported, can be a Fixed Point.
Display properties of selected geometry and mesh entities. You can select one or more geometry vertices, edges, faces, or bodies; or mesh nodes or elements in the Graphical window to display their properties.
Geometric symmetry. Half or quarter parts of the symmetric structure geometry (including Surface Bodies, Line Bodies, Discs and External Lids) can be meshed and used for increasing the accuracy and efficiency of the Hydrodynamic Diffraction analysis.
