The Polyflow Classic system launches Ansys Polyflow Classic, allowing you to analyze fluid flows with free surfaces, complex rheology (including non-Newtonian behavior with viscoelasticity), heat transfer, and chemical reactions. Using Polyflow Classic involves specifying the computation models inside Polydata, which is the module for problem setup; and running the calculations using the Polyflow Classic solver. Polyflow Classic also comes with several useful utilities, which can be accessed from the context menu on the Setup and Solution cells. For example, Polymat can be used to calculate material properties, including viscoelastic parameters based on experimental data. For more details, see the product documentation.
There are three Polyflow Classic fluid-flow analysis systems available in Workbench:
Polyflow Classic: Provides the full simulation capabilities of Polyflow Classic.
Polyflow Classic - Blow Molding: Provides only the application-specific capabilities of Polyflow Classic that are suited to blow molding simulations.
Polyflow Classic - Extrusion: Provides only the application-specific capabilities of Polyflow Classic that are suited to extrusion simulations.
To work through a Polyflow Classic system:
To add a Polyflow Classic, Polyflow Classic - Blow Molding, or Polyflow Classic - Extrusion component system, drag the system from the Toolbox to the Project Schematic or double-click the system in the Toolbox.
To import a mesh, right-click the Setup cell and select Import Mesh from the context menu.
To merge, scale, translate, and rotate the mesh, right-click the Setup cell and select from the context menu.
To define your preferences for Polydata, right-click the Setup cell and select > from the context menu.
To open Polydata, double-click the Setup cell.
In Polydata, you can specify the computational models, materials, boundary conditions, and solution parameters.
Alternatively, to import a previously saved Polyflow Classic data file, right-click the Setup cell and select from the context menu.
Optionally, to specify material data, right-click the Setup cell and select from the context menu.
To define your preferences for Polyflow Classic, right-click the Solution cell and select > from the context menu.
To run the Polyflow Classic calculation, right-click the Solution cell and select from the context menu.
To open the listing file to see what Polyflow Classic has done during or after the calculation, right-click the Solution cell and select from the context menu.
To generate plots of the solution data, right-click the Solution cell and select from the context menu.
To statistically postprocess the results of the solution data, right-click the Solution cell and select from the context menu.
