VTFx file is the data exchange format which has been developed and provided by Ceetron. Several well-known CAD/CAE data exchange formats exist, including 3D XML, JT Open, and 3D PDF. Some are open, some less so. While most of them are good for CAD and can be used to store CAE data (typically from FEA or CFD), they are not optimized for CAE, especially not for time-dependent data. Based on this insight, VTFx has been developed by Ceetron. It is today used by tens of thousands of CAE professionals on a regular basis, and supported by major CAE vendors. After you export the VTFx file, you can then open the 3D animation in the Ceetron 3D Viewer and attach simulation result to MS word and PowerPoint by using Ceetron 3D Plugin as shown in the figures below.
