Create a Named Selection for the contact connections as follows:

  1. Expand the Model and then the Geometry elements in the Project tree.

  2. To allow access to the required faces of the Chain_1 object, right-click the Chain_2 object and select Hide Body.

  3. Right-click the Model element in the Project tree.

  4. From the menu, select Insert and then Named Selection.

  5. Rename the new named selection as Chain1_Contact.

  6. In the Details panel, ensure that Scoping Method is set to Geometry Selection.

  7. Using the Face selection tool, select both pins as shown below

  8. In the Details panel, next to the Geometry field, click Apply.

Verify that Geometry is now set to 2 Faces and that the Named contact is shown in the graphical display as in the figure below.

  9. Right-click the Chain_2 object in the Project tree and select Show Body.

  10. Repeat the steps 3 to 8 above to create another named selection, titled Chain2_Contact, as shown below.

  11. Create three more Named Selections for the tooth surface of three sprockets, titled Sprocket1_Surface, Sprocket2_Surface and Sprocket_Guide_Surface, as shown below.

Note:  You must take care not to include the side and inner faces of the sprockets, as shown in the diagram above. You may find it easier to change the selection Mode to Box Select, select the entire sprocket, then switch back to Single Select mode and hold CTRL to de-select the side and interior faces.

Verify that you now have five Named Selection objects, as shown below.
