Specify the material properties for your crystal plasticity analysis. To assign a material to the CP Microstructure object:
Click the Assignment field under Material in the Details pane. A drop-down menu lists the materials that are valid for a CP Microstructure analysis. Select the desired material from the menu.
Note: You can only select materials that use the Crystal Plasticity – CP Microstructure material model plus either the Isotropic Elasticity material model or the Cubic Elasticity material model. For more information about loading and creating these materials, see Importing Materials Library and Defining Materials.
In the Crystal Type field, select the crystal structure associated with your material (FCC, BCC, or HCP).
Note: If your material does not appear on the menu, do one of the following:
If you opened the Mechanical application from Workbench, right-click the Materials object and choose from the drop-down menu. This reloads material definitions from the Engineering Data module.
If you opened the Mechanical application independently, follow the steps in Import Materials Library into Mechanical Application to reload the material library.
