1.1. Open Crash Model Results

  1. Run belted.k using LS-DYNA to get d3plot result.

  2. Launch LS-PrePost, File > Open > LS-DYNA Binary Plot.

  3. Open the d3plot file.

  4. Click the Left render button.

  5. Click FEM > Element Tools > Identity.

  6. Enter ID=1,1787.

  7. Press Enter on keyboard (see Figure 1).

Note:  The Head Injury Criterion (HIC) calculation in this tutorial will be based on accelerometer node ID 1. The Chest Severity Index (CSI) calculation will be based on accelerometer node ID 1787. Computation of both parameters requires acceleration data generally output in the NODOUT file.
