Web licensing includes support for Shared Web and Named User Web products for Discovery Pro, Discovery Premium, and Discovery Enterprise.
These portals are integral to Web license management:
Table 5.1: Web License Management Portals
| To do this: | Use the: |
|---|---|
| Request licenses; specify counts (seats) for licenses | Ansys Licensing Portal (Self Serve Licensing > Request Web Licenses) |
| Manage users and their roles; create groups; assign members to groups | ID Portal |
| Assign licenses to users | Ansys Licensing Portal (Entitlements > Elastic Licensing) |
Note:
- Users may have mixed licenses. For example, a user may have a combination of Shared Web, Named User Web, and floating licenses, and use them as appropriate.
- Named User Web licensing does not support alternate licenses or physics add-on licenses. In cases where an alternate license or physics add-on license is required, the user is reverted to a floating license.
- Upon initial product launch, the user is prompted to login.
- License checkouts are recorded in log files.
