Ansys Forming is a dedicated application for LS-DYNA stamping simulations. It seamlessly integrates preprocessing, solving, and postprocessing in a user-friendly interface. A template-based approach enables you to easily define complex sheet metal forming processes and set up multi-stage forming simulations. The software supports both cold stamping and hot forming processes. You can also add a new forming stage, define additional forming processes, and evaluate the simulation results while the job is running.
Ansys Forming has a built-in material database with suitable material data for different sheet metals. In addition, the material database management interface enables you to easily edit the existing material data or add new material parameters.
Ansys Forming simplifies tipping and changing coordinate systems. In stamping simulations, the part is typically in the vehicle position, which is far away from the drawing position. Even in a multi-stage process, the part position might need to be changed. Tipping transforms the geometries from vehicle position to press position. Ansys Forming provides a flexible method that makes tipping intuitive and easy to use.
After all the stages are defined, the built-in job runner enables you to submit the job by a single click of the button. The job runner automatically performs the simulation sequentially as defined in the process, and you can monitor the running status in real time. You can easily pause, stop, or restart the job from the middle of the simulation.
The postprocessor automatically chains the results from all stages into one window, making it convenient to evaluate the simulation results for the process. A multi-window management capability facilitates working on multiple projects at the same time.
