Inserting a Cut Plane

Prerequisites: To enable Cut plane, turn on Contours, Iso-Surface, Mesh, or Near-Field and Far-Field Pattern for electromagnetic simulations.
Select the Cut plane tool to insert moveable cut planes that show results in real time. To insert a cut plane:
  1. In the Results arc, click Cut plane.
  2. Hover over the cut plane in the geometry and an arrow appears, enabling you to move the cut plane.
    If you’ve added planes from the Design tab and you've turned on Contours, you can also view results on those planes. Select Show results next to the plane in the Model tree or right-click the plane in the tree and select Show results. To view the results only for that plane, right-click and select Show Results on Selection Only.
    Note: The cut plane in the Model tree already has results shown, therefore only user-defined planes will have the option to Show results when you've turned on Contours. If you are showing results on a user-defined plane in Explore, the cut plane results are disabled as is the Cut plane tool in the Results arc. Additionally, results on bodies in Explore are disabled when showing results on user-defined planes.
