The following sections list new or recently discovered limitations known to exist in version 2025 R1.
Error messages can appear when exporting the project context. Workaround: duplicate the erroneous 3D View and delete the original one. (1106461)
Importing the project context from a case that has some User Processes, Time Plots or Cross Plots does not import them or imports with some visualization issues. (1079919, 1079834, 1079835, 1080020)
There are some known issues with Point Clouds post-processing, preventing the users from creating any custom properties or use Eulerian Statics user processes, which may lead to crash in the application when reopening the project. (1175174, 1175176)
In 1-way Fluent coupled cases through Ansys Workbench™ software, Rocky application hangs during the step “Obtaining Fluent Information…” if the user has not previously installed the “Fluent/Rocky export” plugin. Workaround: before running any 1-way coupled simulations through Ansys Workbench, it is necessary to install the “Fluent/Rocky export” plugin, by selecting “Options > Ansys > Install Fluent/Rocky export” in the Rocky main menu. (1193981)
In some 2-Way Fluent coupled cases, when setting a value greater than 1 for the Fluent Outputs Multiplier parameter, some instabilities can be observed for pressure and mass flow rate. (1053441)
In some 2-Way Fluent coupled cases, when assigning a large number of CPUs for Fluent, considerable differences in the mass imbalance can be observed. (1083867)
Simulation timeout error may occur when running 2-Way Fluent coupled cases on old Nvidia GPUs, like Tesla M60, as Rocky solver needs to perform a translation of the GPU capabilities. Workaround: run the simulation again. (1133154)
SPH elements may cross the walls depending on the triangle size when using the WCSPH solver. Workaround: increase the wall triangle size or choose another SPH solver. (1180876)
Note: This limitation is resolved in the 2025 R1.01 service pack which can be downloaded from the Download Center Page in the Service Pack section.
In SPH simulations, when using the WCSPH solver, some elements might pass through the outlets instead of being removed from the simulation. (1181358)
Some SPH projects may close with simulation critical message in Linux. Workaround: reduce the value for the parameter Number of Search Cell Sub-Steps in the SPH advanced tab. (1180667)
Solver critical error may occur when assigning a rotation motion frame to a transient point cloud. (1176684)
Note: This limitation is resolved in the 2025 R1.01 service pack which can be downloaded from the Download Center Page in the Service Pack section.
Simulations may stop without any apparent error messages when running on multi-GPU. Workaround: try resuming the simulation and/or running with a different number of GPUs. (1159224)
Note: This limitation is resolved in the 2025 R1.01 service pack which can be downloaded from the Download Center Page in the Service Pack section.
There is a backwards compatibility issue, leading to a solver critical error when trying to import a .fmu file generated in previous Ansys Motion releases. Workaround: export the .fmu file again using Ansys Motion™ software 2025 R1. (1106482)
