The Repairing option allows you to repair an imported geometry
that has some default like holes, overlapping surfaces and so on. The options provide 3 tools:
Topology Reconstruction (also called sewing), Topology Healing, Geometry Stitching.
Note: The Repair option is only available for the
CAD importer.
To Repair a Geometry:
Prerequisites: Displaying the Resources panel is required.
-
From the Resources panel, import a
geometry.
-
Browse to .
-
To reconstruct the organization of bodies inside a part, select Topology Reconstruction.
-
To determine if two surfaces are neighbors or not, specify the Tolerance factor (x0.01 mm).
Note: By default, the Tolerance factor is 100.
-
In the Merge option list, select:
Topology to merge
together all bodies of a geometry and create/sew new bodies by sets of connected faces.
Keep to connect
faces belonging to the same body.
Color to merge
together all bodies of a geometry and create/sew new bodies by sets of connected faces
with the same colors.
-
To sew only visible objects, select Only visible option.
-
To extend the existing bodies and heal the topology without deformation, select Topology Healing.
-
To stitch bodies and edges with deformation, select Geometry Stitching then specify the Deformation tolerance factor (x0.01 mm).
Note: By default, the Deformation tolerance factor is 10.
-
Click Import.
-
Click OK.
