Using the Ray File Editor

browse a .ray or a .tm25ray file.You can import or export files.
You can use data downloaded from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors.
By clicking Edit, Repair or
, you can repair a ray
file.Important: Before version 2024 R1, only rays with null energy were removed from the repaired file.As of version 2024 R1, the corrupted rays definition has changed. If the ray has- no finite number: the ray is removed.
- non-normalized direction: the ray is normalized if it is not null. Else the ray is removed.
- null or negative weight: the ray is removed.
- null or negative wavelength: the ray is removed.
- non-normalized polarization direction: the ray is normalized if it is not null. Else the ray is removed. This is only valid in case of a 2.2 version *.ray file as the 2.2 version contains polarization data unlike the 2.0 version.
- non-orthogonal polarization direction: the ray is orthogonalized if it is not null. Else the ray is removed. This is only valid in case of a 2.2 version *.ray file as the 2.2 version contains polarization data unlike the 2.0 version.
- collinear polarization direction: the ray is removed. This is only valid in case of a 2.2 version *.ray file as the 2.2 version contains polarization data unlike the 2.0 version.
Therefore, a ray with a null direction cannot be repaired and is removed from the repaired file as well as its weight. As a consequence, the flux of the file is changed, being more consistent as it does not take into account these rays.

Set the parameters.
You must save each .ray file. When you click Save as in the latest format, the Ray File Editor migrates the file in the most recent version of the format. .tm25ray files cannot be saved. You can refer to Contents of .ray and .tm25 ray files.
Warning: Make sure not to overwrite .ray files as you might need the basic one for a different binning and therefore different emission. - Close the window.
