Setting Up the Cloud Environment

This procedure shows you how to install and configure your environment in order to be able to solve simulations in the cloud.

Prerequisites: You must already have an Ansys account, a cloud essentials subscription assigned to you and a set of Ansys Elastic Currencies (AEC).
Note: If you need help regarding subscriptions, get in touch with your Ansys representative.

To set up the Ansys Cloud Direct environment:

  1. Make sure you are meeting the Ansys Cloud Direct requirements.
  2. Install the Ansys Cloud Direct suite.
  3. Check your Ansys Cloud Direct installation.
  4. Make sure Ansys Command Line Interface (CLI) has been correctly installed with the Ansys Cloud Direct suite installation:
    1. Access your environment variables.
    2. From the System variables, edit the Path variable and verify that the CLI directory path has been added as a new value of the current environment variable ANSYSCloudCLI_ROOT.


  5. Configure your Speos Core environment:
    1. From the Speos interface, open Speos Core.
    2. Click Speos HPC cluster configuration .
    3. In HPC configuration type, select Ansys Cloud Direct.
  6. Click Log in to connect to the Ansys Cloud Direct.
  7. When prompted, sign in to your Ansys Cloud Direct account.
  8. Click OK.
Your Ansys Cloud Direct environment is set up and ready to be used.
