Understanding the Specific Simulation Options for an Optical Design Exchange
The following page describes the specific settings of the Optical Design Exchange feature to be applied when running a simulation containing the feature.
Note: Texture options are not supported by the Optical Design Exchange Feature.
Meshing
Note: Since the Optical Design Exchange feature has its own meshing, no Local Meshing feature is
required to define the meshing. Only the Optical Design Exchange meshing is necessary.
With the meshing settings, you can lighten memory resources and accelerate simulation in specific cases. Meshing quality affects the simulation performances and the quality of the produced results, particularly when simulating optical systems.
For more information on the meshing, refer to the Meshing chapter.
Important:
We recommend you to define at least the meshing parameters as follows. However, be aware that the
meshing values need to be adapted to the optical system to be meshed.
- Meshing sag mode = Fixed
- Meshing sag value = 0.001 mm
- Meshing step mode = Fixed
- Meshing step value = 1 mm
- Meshing angle = 12°
