Span Angle Center

When Use Adaptive Sizing is set to Yes, Span Angle Center sets the goal for curvature-based refinement. For a curved region, the mesh will subdivide along the curvature until the individual elements span this angle.

You can set the span angle by choosing one of the following options:

Coarse - 91^o to 60^o
Medium - 75^o to 24^o
Fine - 36^o to 12^o

Example 1: How the Span Angle Center Controls Element Placement

The following figure shows a curved region. If the curvature were extended to 360^o to create a circle, the Curvature Normal Angle is the arc span from the center of the circle to the curved region. The Curvature Normal Angle (α = 45^o) is computed based on the Span Angle Center setting.
