6.9. Creating a New Turbomachinery Fluid Flow Analysis

You can create a Turbomachinery Fluid Flow analysis using either the Create New > Turbomachinery Fluid Flow (BladeGen) command or the Create New > Turbomachinery Fluid Flow (BladeEditor) command in the right-click context menu of the Blade Design cell.

The first of these commands generates a set of systems as shown below.

The Turbo Setup component is populated with the duty point operating conditions from the Vista CCD calculation.

The Blade Design component is populated with the impeller geometry using the current, up-to-date parameters from the Vista CCD calculation.

The Turbomachinery Fluid Flow system is an analysis system that combines TurboGrid and CFX component systems. This is subsequently created from the up-to-date Turbo Setup system and linked to the upstream impeller Blade Design cell. The Turbomachinery Fluid Flow system is ready to update to calculate a duty point steady-state fluid flow analysis of the impeller using CFX.

The second of these commands provides the equivalent analysis capability using a Geometry (BladeEditor) component in place of the BladeGen system.
