Dynamic Mesh

Dynamic mesh is required to allow Fluent to receive the mesh displacement data sent by Maxwell.

Verify the dynamic mesh.

  1. On the Domain tab under Mesh Models, click the Dynamic Mesh icon ( ).

The Dynamic Mesh Task Page opens.

  2. Verify the following settings:

    1. The Dynamic Mesh check box is selected.

    2. Under Mesh Methods, the Smoothing check box is cleared.

    3. Under Dynamic Mesh Zones, note that the following dynamic mesh zones have been defined: target – Rigid Body and target_1 – Rigid Body.

  3. Verify the settings for each of the defined dynamic mesh zones:

    1. Double-click the target – Rigid Body zone name.

The Dynamic Mesh Zones dialog opens and is populated with the information for the target zone.

    2. Verify the following settings:

      • Type is set to Rigid Body.

      • Motion UDF/Profile is set to dis, indicating that the loaded displacement profile is applied to the zone.

    3. Under Dynamic Mesh Zones, click target_1.

The dialog is populated with information for that zone.

    4. For target_1, repeat the same steps used to verify the settings for target.

  4. Click Close to exit the dialog.
