Introduction to System Coupling Beta Features

System Coupling allows you to activate beta-level hidden features that are being released provisionally for your exploratory use. These features are generally:

  • In the active Development phase of product creation

  • Mature enough for their value and feasibility to be recognized, but require further development and testing before full release as completed features

  • Documented in the System Coupling Beta Features manual (that is, addressed in the subsequent sections of this document)

This document provides information on the beta-level hidden features available for Ansys System Coupling 2024 R2. It includes both instructions on using the features and references to relevant information in the System Coupling User's Guide.

Beta Feature Disclaimer

Beta features have not been fully tested and validated. Ansys, Inc. may, at its discretion, fully release, change, or withdraw beta features in future revisions, but makes no commitment to doing so on any schedule.

Ansys, Inc. makes no particular commitment to resolve defects reported against beta features. However, your feedback will be considered and will help us to improve the quality of the product.

Beta features are not subject to the Ansys Class 3 error reporting system. Ansys, Inc. does not guarantee that input files used with beta features will run successfully from version to version of the software, nor with the final released version of the features. You may need to modify the input files before running them on other versions.

Alpha Feature Disclaimer

When beta-level hidden features are activated, you may also activate a limited set of pre-beta, or alpha-level, hidden features. These features are still very early in the product-creation cycle and should be understood to be significantly less mature than beta features. Alpha features are subject to the same disclaimers as beta features, and are generally:

  • In the Research and Development phase of product creation

  • Too early in the development cycle to assess their potential value, so there is significant uncertainty as to whether they can/will be released as viable functionality

  • Not explicitly documented, but acknowledged within the product (for example, labels, data model items) when activated

All disclaimers noted for beta features are also applicable to alpha features.
