Creating a Sheet Metal Hinge

  1. Create one of the three overlap junctions, or create a split across a flat wall.
  2. Select the junction where you want to place the hinge.
  3. Click Hinge in the Sheet Metal tab Create group.
  4. The Select Edges tool guide activates and the hinge highlights in preview mode to show the hinge's placement and size.
  5. (Optional): Modify the Hinge options in the Options panel:

    • Pin diameter

    • Pitch

    • Knuckle length

    • End play

    • Paint clearance

    • Hinge direction can be flipped using the Flip check box.

  6. Click Complete to create the hinge.
