License Preferences

You can set your preferences for the primary SpaceClaim license, an Alternate flagship license, and the Meshing license. Specifying an Alternate license allows for a different license to be used in case the primary SpaceClaim license is unavailable, except when None is selected.

Select the appropriate Alternate License and Meshing license preferences from the options available.

Alternate License Meshing License

Specifies a flagship license to use if the primary SpaceClaim license is unavailable (in all cases except None).

Enable Check for SpaceClaim license prior to alternate license to ensure that the primary SpaceClaim license is checked before choosing an alternate license.

By default, SpaceClaim queries and checks out license keys in the following order:

  1. It looks first for disco_level1 or a_spaceclaim_dirmod, in that order. These are the primary SpaceClaim licenses.

    Note: If you prefer SpaceClaim query the legacy license (a_spaceclaim_dirmod) first and disco_level1 second, set the ANS_MODELER_FLIP_LICENSE environment variable to 1.

  2. If neither primary license is present, it looks for an alternate SpaceClaim license, as defined in the License Preferences section of the SpaceClaim Options panel.

  3. If none of the primary or alternate licenses are present but SpaceClaim finds a compatible flagship license, a message dialog appears so you can select the other license.

Overriding the License Preferences

You can use a command line option (/p) to override the primary SpaceClaim license and Alternate license preferences, and specify a different license on application startup.

For example:

SpaceClaim.exe /p=ansys
