Inserting a Custom Symbol Into Your Design

  1. Click Insert in the Symbols group on the Detail tab.
    The icon for this tool will change to the symbol thumbnail after you insert a symbol.
  2. Select a symbol from the list of available symbols.
  3. Choose one of the Creation options:

    • Create in model space

    • Create in paper space

  4. Place the symbol:

    • Click anywhere in your design to place the symbol

    • Click highlighted geometry to attach an attachable symbol to that geometry.

      If you want to attach the symbol to the intersection of two curves, click the first curve to attach the symbol to it, and then Alt+click the second curve to move the symbol to the intersection of the two curves. You can also select the Attach to Intersection tool guide, then click the second curve to move the symbol to the intersection.

      The symbol is attached to the geometry and will move with that geometry as it changes.

  5. If editable text was defined in the symbol, you can change the text now.
