Simple Standalone Operation (Connection Occurs Automatically)

If you want to run EnSight client and server (or SOS) on the same machine (standalone), and you have not changed the default automatic connections to be elsewhere, you can simply do the following:

To Start EnSight:

Non Windows:

$ ensight

At the prompt In a shell window, type:

ensight

Windows:

Either double-click the EnSight 2024 R2 icon on the desktop

or

Start → Ansys 2024 R2 → EnSight 2024 R2

To start EnSight in SOS mode: (reminder that you need an Enterprise, formerly HPC or gold, license key for this)

Non Windows:

$ ensight -sos

At the prompt in a shell window, type:

ensight -sos

Windows:

Start → CEI → ensight_sos.bat
