Test Mode

This release of EnSight Launcher adds Test Mode. Clicking the Test button at the bottom of the EnSight Launcher will cause EnSight Launcher to validate the other options specified in the graphical user interface. It will try to access the Remote Server Name computer, verify matching versions of EnSight, connectivity, and other nuances of running EnSight via EnSight Launcher. If a problem is found, the console window within EnSight Launcher will concisely report encountered errors and/or warnings. These are color coded in red or yellow, respectively. Full output from testing may appear in an additional verbose dialog. This additional verbose dialog only appears upon Test failure or if testing takes a long time.

The EnSight Launcher File menu includes options Save console output... and Save verbose dialog output... to allow saving text files containing the output from those windows. This output can be extremely useful when corresponding with Ansys Support regarding problems with EnSight Launcher or EnSight itself.


Note:  Test Mode is a preliminary feature. A future version of EnSight Launcher will allow running specific, limited tests, and running additional tests. Should you discover an launching error situation that EnSight Launcher does not diagnose, let us know so we can add additional tests.

At this time Test Mode does not work with Use Job Scheduler.
