Inserting a Selection

  1. Click the Selection icon to paste the current selection as a script into the script window. You have three options for pasting: Smart Variable, Index, and Ray.
  2. (Optional) Click the dropdown arrow to select another option and then click .
Index The internal index of each selected entity.
Ray The internal ray fire point and direction.
Smart Variable Combines the other methods to make selections better persist when replaying scripts, by storing more information. This makes replay more robust in matching the selected entity during geometry changes.
