Installing the Local Documentation Package

Viewing the online help on the Internet is recommended, as the help content on the Internet is routinely updated. If you do not have Internet access, or if you would like a local copy of the online help on your system, you can download an installable version of our product documentation from the Ansys Download Center.

  1. Sign in to your account. If you don't have an account, you are prompted to create one.
  2. From the list of Downloads on the left, click Product Documentation.
  3. Under Installable Help, click Local Help Windows to begin the download.
  4. From the Windows File Explorer Downloads folder, extract ANSYSLOCALHELP_<release>_WINX64.zip to a convenient location on your computer.
  5. In the folder of extracted files, double-click setup.exe.
  6. When the installer appears, choose I agree to the terms and click Next.
  7. Confirm the installation directory and click Next.
  8. Confirm the selected platforms and products (in this case, Ansys, Inc. Documentation Only) and click Next.
  9. When the installation is complete, click Exit.
  10. From the Windows Start menu, select Ansys Help <release> to launch the Ansys Help Viewer.
  11. (Optional) To enable help calls directly from Discovery products to the installed local documentation, select Ansys Help Configuration <release> from the Windows Start menu. Then specify the path to the installed help files and click Save.
You may need to restart your machine for changes to take effect.
