Advanced Options

Modify how your design changes are displayed in the graphics window, enable script editor and reset the layout of the panels.

Ansys® Product Improvement Program Participate in the Ansys® Product Improvement Program which enables Ansys, Inc. to collect and analyze anonymous usage data reported by Ansys software without affecting your work or product performance. Analyzing product usage data helps Ansys® to understand customer usage trends and patterns, interests, and quality or performance issues. The data enables Ansys® to develop or enhance product features that better address your needs.
Notify when new version available

Select this option to be notified of new vesions. You can also manually check for updates using the Check for updates button.

This setting is removed for customized branding (Speos, etc.).
Enable history tracking by default Select for different default behavior.
Maximum undo steps Enter the maximum number of steps that can be undone.

Language Select one of the available languages from the dropdown.

Ignore problem area search limit in repair tools The problem search area is capped at 250. Select this option to ignore this restriction, which allows the repair tools to find and repair all problem areas.
Default extrude behavior Select a different default behavior for extrusion from the dropdown.
Top view direction Set the default top direction of a Discovery session. Z is the up axis and Y is the down axis. Once you set it, you need to open a new file to see the change. This setting remains constant even if you sketch or import any model.
Enable advanced callbacks in the extension builder Enable callback functionality for custom scripts. Two types of callbacks are supported: one triggered on every graphics window refresh and another triggered upon tool exit.
Discovery license Select the primary Discovery license. For more information, see Product Licensing.

Alternate license Select an Alternate license for flagship products. For more information, see Product Licensing.

Check for Discovery Modeling license prior to alternate license Select to check whether you have a Discovery Modeling license before checking for an alternate license. This option is applicable only when Discovery license is set to Ansys Discovery Modeling, and an Alternate license preference is specified.
Temporary data You can use the default data location or Browse to a new location. Specify a value for the number of days after which you want to remove temporary data older than days (Restart required).
Diagnostic logs You can use the default data location or Browse to a new location.
Save Diagnostic On-demand saving of diagnostics logs.
Reset All User Settings Remove all user-defined settings and reset to default values.

Beta Options

Click each Beta feature you want to enable. For some Beta features, you must restart Discovery to apply the updated setting.
