Using the Unshare Tool

  1. Click the Unshare tool .
    Shared faces are displayed. You can enable the display of Shared Edges and/or Shared Vertices.
  2. The Include named selections option is enabled by default for Search Options. Named selections created using the Review tool will also be searched for and unshared.
  3. The Include dependent topolgy option is enabled by default for Search Options. Children of unshared entities will also be unshared. For example, unsharing a face will unshare the edges and/or vertices associated with it.
The figure shows the initial model with shared topology highlighted.

Three faces and their boundary edges are currently shared.

  • The Select tool guide is active by default. Use this tool guide to select the entities that are automatically found by the tool.

    You can also use the Select Geometry tool guide to select faces and edges to unshare.

  • Use the Exclude Problem tool guide to exclude entities for the unshare operation.

  • Click Complete to unshare all highlighted shared entities.
