34.1. GT-SUITE Model Details View

GT-SUITE Model objects appear in the Outline tree view under Simulation > Expressions, Functions and Variables. To access the GT-SUITE Model details view, right-click an existing GT-SUITE Model object and select Edit. You use the GT-SUITE Model details view to review and adjust settings for the object.

  • File Name shows the name of the .gtm file that defines some of the inputs for the GT-SUITE software.

Note:  The file extension ".gtm" is used by files written by GT-SUITE software and by mesh files written by some Ansys software. In this section of the documentation, ".gtm" refers to files written by GT-SUITE software.

  • Version is the version of GT-SUITE that needs to be run, and should match the version that was used to produce the specified .gtm file.

The versions that are available under Version are controlled by a preference. For details, see User Interface.

  • The Installation Path check box can normally remain cleared. Selecting the Installation Path check box and specifying an Installation Path similar to

    C:\Program Files (x86)\GTI

indicates where CFX should find the GT-SUITE software. This check box and its corresponding text field override the GTIHOME environment variable, which also indicates an installation path to GT-SUITE.

Whether CFX finds the installation path to GT-SUITE from the environment variable or from the overriding Installation Path settings, it looks directly under that installation path for the version-specific installation subdirectory of GT-SUITE, such as v2022, as set by the Version setting.

  • Material Mapping

The GT-SUITE Model object contains a mapping between materials in CFX and materials in GT-SUITE. When you initialize a GT-SUITE model, materials are read from the GT-SUITE definition (.gtm) file. You must set up mapping between the materials in the .gtm file and the materials available in CFX-Pre. In the Material Mapping list, choose a GT-SUITE material, then in the Material Name field below the list, choose the corresponding CFX material.
