31.2. Creating an Expression

  1. You can create an expression using any of the following methods:

    • On the Outline tab, right-click Expressions and select Insert > Expression.

    • Click Expression   in the main toolbar.

    • Select Insert > Expressions, Functions and Variables > Expression from the menu bar.

    Whichever method you choose, the Insert Expression dialog box appears.

  2. Under Name, type a name for the new expression.

  3. Click OK.

  4. In the Expressions details view, under Definition, enter an expression. For details on using the Definition area, see Definition.

  5. Click Apply.

  6. Optionally, select Plot or Evaluate to examine the expression.


Note:  In the Expressions details view, you can right-click and select Insert > Expression to add more expressions, but only if no existing expression is highlighted.
