Known Issues and Limitations

This section contains known issues at the time of release, as well as system and software limitations.

Issue: Ansys Viewer interface is not being displayed

If you try to launch Ansys Viewer and do not see the interface, you may see a single ANSYSViewer.exe process running in Windows Task Manager. When Ansys Viewer is running properly, you will see four of those processes running in Windows Task Manager.

In most cases, anti-virus software is preventing the other three processes from being started by the parent ANSYSViewer.exe process.

To resolve this issue, you may need to make changes to your anti-virus software. For example, if you are running Symantec Endpoint Protection, you may need to uninstall, disable, or otherwise exclude Ansys Viewer from the "Symantec Application and Device Control" under the Proactive Threat Protection heading.

Views defined in Ansys Mechanical are not listed in the View Manager

This is a known limitation. AVZ files that are exported from Ansys Mechanical do not include views created with Mechanical's Manage Views feature. Such views will not be available in Ansys Viewer.
