Be aware of the following known issue when running the user interface:
Running Mechanical APDL via VNC - When running the Mechanical APDL user interface on a remote computer accessed via virtual network computing (VNC), a traceback error may occur upon closing the program. Although an error is displayed, the user interface does not abort and remains fully functional. The issue occurs only on Ubuntu and CentOS operating systems.
Issues with Mechanical APDL via VNC on Ubuntu - When using a virtual network computing (VNC) on Ubuntu operating systems, issues may occur with the Mechanical APDL graphical user interface.
Using Keyboard Input in the User Interface When Connected via VNC - When connected to a VNC session on the Ubuntu operating system, keyboard input entered in the Single Line Input Window of the Mechanical APDL user interface may not register.
Workarounds: Click the keyboard icon on the left side of the Single Line Input Window to activate the Floating Command Window, and use this window for keyboard input. Another workaround is to use a copy/paste operation to paste commands (using the right click button) directly into the Single Line Input Window. See Command Input Options for more information.
