Speos HPC Overview

Speos HPC (High Performance Computing) helps you boost the frequency and the speed calculation to reduce computation time for faster results.

  • Speos HPC product solution provides you with the Speos HPC application to run your simulations with on-premises clusters.

  • Speos HPC CLOUD service solution allows you to rent cluster numerical mockups to run your simulations off-premises.

How does Speos HPC work?

Figure 1. Overview of the Speos HPC process

Note: Head Node: the server machine or master of the cluster. There can be more than one Head Node in a cluster to ensure redundancy. Compute Nodes: the machines on a cluster that compute the data.
  1. From your computer, you connect to the Head Node.

  2. You transfer and store the simulation data (.speos file) into the Head Node.

  3. You give the scheduler instructions for computing the data.

  4. The Compute Nodes compute the data according to the instructions given to the scheduler.

  5. The Compute Nodes store the results in the specified location so you can retrieve them.

What are the main benefits?

Reducing computation time allows you more iterations in your Product Development Process, therefore:

  1. improving the time flexibility,
  2. broadening the scope of calculations without delay due to additional processing,
  3. increasing the complexity of your virtual prototyping project,
  4. improving the quality,
  5. reducing the time to market.
