CNC Export (Surface Export File)

The CNC Eport (Surface Export File) is a *.txt file generated at the end of each HUD Optical Design computation, containing information relative to the HUD design.

At the end of each HUD Optical Design computation, a surface export.txt is generated.file

The file contains:

  • The description of the axis system (origin, X, Y and Z axes) used for the export.
  • The coefficients of the (extended) polynomial equation of the freeform mirror(s) shape. These coefficients are provided for the mirrors production.

by default this term = 0

Is reflected in the text file as:

  • Radius = 0
  • Conic = 0

m,n from 0 to the degree defined by the user

Is reflected in the text file as:

  • Coefficient Xm Yn=Cm,n

  • Normalization = 1
Warning: The exported surfaces are unbounded.
Note: The Normalization factor is used in the Polynomial term in order to make the Polynomial term dimensionless.
