Rotation

The Rotation test gives the angle between the horizontal line of the virtual image and the horizontal line of the target image.

In detail:

For each sample EBij of the binocular eyebox, the "Rotation" gives the angle, expressed in degrees, between the horizontal line of the virtual image and the horizontal line of the target image.

Horizontal line of the virtual image: For each sample EBij of the binocular eyebox, the horizontal line of the virtual image is the result of a linear regression over the sample of the horizontal center line of the virtual image seen from the sample EBij projected, with a normal projection, on the target image.

Horizontal line of the target image: The horizontal line of the target image in the line between the center of the target image and the middle right sample of the target image.

Note: In the plugin, the dynamic distortion (the virtual image seen from the sample EBij) is computed in three dimensions.

The result of the computation is displayed as a table that contains the "Rotation" computed for each sample EBij of the binocular eyebox.

In particular, you can notice that:
  • There is one table result by configuration created.
  • Each table has the size of the sampling of the binocular eyebox.
  • The test also displays a sum up, for each configuration, of the Average, the Standard deviation, the Minimum and the Maximum of the value contained in the table.
