Horizontal Field of View

The Horizontal Field of View test gives the size of the virtual image, in degree, along the horizontal direction.

In detail:

For each sample EBij of the binocular eyebox, the Horizontal Field Of View gives the angle, expressed in degrees, between the left border line and the >right border line.

Left border line: For each sample EBij of the binocular eyebox, the left border line is defined as the line between the sample EBij of the binocular eyebox and the middle left sample of the virtual image seen from the sample EBij of the binocular eyebox.

Right border line: Similarly, for each sample EBij of the binocular eyebox, the right border line is defined as the line between the sample EBij of the binocular eyebox and the middle right sample of the virtual image seen from the sample EBij of the binocular eyebox.

Note: In the plugin, the dynamic distortion (the virtual image seen from the sample EBij) is computed in three dimensions.

The result of the computation is displayed as a table that contains the Horizontal Field Of View computed for each sample EBij of the binocular eyebox.

In particular, you can notice that:
  • There is one table result by configuration created.
  • Each table has the size of the sampling of the binocular eyebox.
  • The test also displays a sum up, for each configuration, of the Average, the Standard deviation, the Minimum and the Maximum of the value contained in the table.
