Sharp Cutoff Overview

This page presents the Sharp Cutoff beam type and the two construction modes that are available to build the beam.

The Sharp Cutoff is a type of optical surface beam shaped to direct light underneath a specified cut-off line on the target.

The Sharp Cutoff is a target-oriented task definition: you define the light behavior of the extended source on the target thanks to the parameters and the facet will shape accordingly.

Two modes are available to create a Sharp Cutoff beam: the Standard Mode and the Advanced Mode.

Standard Mode

The Standard mode allows you to easily design a sharp cutoff beam.

This mode provides a standard set of parameters and the definition of the beam is partly automated.

Advanced Mode

The Advanced mode is a flexible mode that allows you to fully control the light direction according to the reflecting area of the facet.

This mode is useful to design low beams, fog lamps or cornering lights.
