Freeform

The Freeform lens is shaped according to target points or directions.

Note: This beam type is not available if you defined the Inner support option.

The freeform lens is generated to illuminate a desired area. You define this area of interest and the lenses generated accordingly.

The elements of this lens basically look like prisms having a pillow on their tops.

Contrary to the prism beam type whose curvature is defined with a constant radius, here the curvature is the result of an optimization minimizing the beam pattern size With this beam type all the rays goes in the targeted points or directions while with the basic prism beam type the matching is made sure only for one prism point.

Intensity
  • X angle: Angle defining the direction targeted by the prism along X Target axis.
  • Y angle: Angle defining the direction targeted by the prism along Y Target axis.
Illuminance
  • X position: Coordinate of the point targeted by the prism along X Target axis.
  • Y position: Coordinate of the point targeted by the prism along Y Target axis.
