Defining a Zernike Face

This procedure helps you define a Zernike back face or a Zernike front face during a projection lens creation.

Note: The Zernike Face type is in BETA mode for the current release.

To create a Zernike face:

Prerequisites: You must have set the Back face type or Front face type to Zernike.

  1. In the Back / Front Face section, define the Aperture diameter of the lens' back / front face in mm.
  2. In Curvature, define the radius of curvature for the spherical part of the lens' back / front face.
  3. If needed, define the Conic constant of the lens.
  4. If needed, in the Aspheric table, define the 8 aspherical values corresponding to the aspherical coefficients.

These coefficients are used to adjust the lens or remove any construction aberration.

Note: For more information on the aspherical coefficients, refer to Understanding Projection Lens Parameters.
  5. If needed, in the Zernike coefficients table, define the 28 Zernike values corresponding to the Zernike coefficients.

These coefficients are used to adjust the lens or remove any construction aberration.

Note: For more information on the Zernike coefficients, refer to Understanding Projection Lens Parameters.
The Zernike face has been defined. The other face is automatically set as Plan and uses the same Aperture Diameter as the Zernike face.
