Creating a Material Library

Creating a material library consists in exporting from one to all materials present in an opened project in order to share it with other projects.

To create a Material Library:

  1. In the Speos Simulation tree, if you want to:
    • export all material from the project, right-click Material.
    • export some materials from the project, multi-select the materials you want, then right-click a material.
  2. Click Export as material library.
The Export Speos material objects to file window appears.
  3. In the sml file field, click and save the material library *.sml file in a dedicated directory.
  4. If you want to save all related inputs in a dedicated folder at the location of the library or at a custom location:
    1. Check Copy input files
    2. In the Copy input files field, click and define a directory.
Note: Disabling Copy input files keeps the relative path to input files as described in their respective material definitions.
  5. If you want to keep the structure of the Material node of the Speos tree, check Keep material folder structure.
Warning: Keep material folder structure is an option available from the version 2023 R1. A *.sml file created in 2023 R1 or after cannot be opened in a release prior to 2023 R1. However, *.sml files created before 2023 R1 can still be opened in 2023 R1 or subsequent versions.
  6. Click OK.
The Material Library is saved and can now be opened in the interface via the libraries tab.
