SCDOC File Import

The following page provides you with information to help you manage the import of a *.scdoc file into Speos.

Conversion Format

When importing a *.scdoc file (ACIS save format) into Speos, the *.scdoc file will be converted in *.scdocx file (Parasolid save format) upon next save.

Note: As the extension changes from ACIS to Parasolid, the next save of the file will prompt you to save as.

Conversion Time

When converting a *.scdoc file to a *.scdocx file, the conversion can take time. Once converted, the file will open normally, without taking time.

Axes Orientation

The orientation of axes (either support axes or edges used as axes) of the geometries or Speos features may have changed during the project conversion from a *.scdoc file to a *.scdocx file.

We recommend you to check your axes prior to running any simulations.

Optical Part Design

After converting a Light Guide from a *.scdoc file to a *.scdocx file, Light Guide faces used in the Geometries selection of another Speos feature may have changed.

We recommend you to check the geometries selection of your Speos features using light guide faces.

Workbench Project

As a project cannot mix *.scdoc data and *.scdocx data, a Workbench project created with *.scdoc data should be recreated after the *.scdoc file conversion to *.scdocx file.

  1. Import the *.scdoc file.
  2. Save the converted file.

The file is saved as into the *.scdocx.

  3. From the saved *.scdocx file, recreate the Workbench project.
