Optical Part Design

Known Issue

Workaround or Solution

Freeform Lens: In some case, you may have a collimating lens providing inaccurate results. This may be due to different factors: the lens' surface may be too close to the source and the size of the lens aperture may be incorrectly defined. (TFS 817681) Try modifying the distance between the source and the lens' surface, and the lens' aperture.
When the Progress bar seems to be blocked, it may correspond to a sub-operation on the modeler that cannot be precisely monitored. (TFS 702752)
Opening an Optical Part Design project in two different Speos versions may present different results. (TFS 202587)
Settings defined from the SpaceClaim Display tab are not kept after the recompute of an OPD feature. (TFS 569412)
Optical Lens: When using script (only), the assignment of ID on faces is reverted between freestyle and non-freestyle Optical Lens, causing different selections. (TFS 599871)
Optical Surface: When using script (only), the assignment of ID on faces is reverted between freestyle and non-freestyle Optical Surface, causing different selections. (TFS 599871)
Link between OPD features and other Speos features are not necessarily preserved for some elements’ faces that have specific statuses (example: sewing faces of the Optical Surface, back face of the Optical Lens, etc.). Recreate the links when necessary.

There is a current known problem with the curvature orientation (concave/convex) where stripes curvature can be inverted.(358255)

Some performance issues might slow down the light guide generation. (202139)

When prisms have the exact same width as the light guide's width, some prisms might fail to build. (TFS 238577 - SF 26584)

Decrease the prisms width (even of 0.001mm) and rebuild the feature.

The Style Override mode (Transparent or Opaque) is not kept when modifying and updating the feature. (TFS 202120)
