Ansys Cloud Subscription Release Notes

Updates to Ansys Cloud subscriptions are delivered continuously throughout the year. These release notes provide a description of new and modified features, enhancements, changes in behavior, and resolved issues provided by each update.

March 9, 2026

Ansys Cloud supports jobs submitted from 2026 R1 versions of Ansys applications with Ansys Cloud Burst Compute functionality.

Important: When upgrading from a previous Ansys release to 2026 R1 (or any newer release), you should delete the following folder on your local machine before submitting jobs from the newer version of Ansys applications:

C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\Ansys\hps

When submitting Ansys Cloud Burst Compute jobs from Ansys Lumerical 2025 R2 SP04, queues that request Spot Instances are now available. For credit consumption rates, see the Ansys Cloud Burst Compute (using GPU) section in Credit Consumption Rates.

  • Credits in Ansys Cloud subscription plans are now allocated and refreshed on a yearly basis instead of a monthly basis.

  • Ansys Cloud Burst Compute functionality has been added to 2025 R1 versions of Ansys Electronics Desktop, Ansys Fluent, and Ansys Mechanical.

  • To use Ansys Cloud Burst Compute functionality in these applications, a user must be assigned Ansys Cloud Burst Compute product access in Ansys Admin Portal.

  • There is a singular Ansys Cloud Burst Compute product in Ansys Admin Portal for use with any application that supports Ansys Cloud Burst Compute functionality. Users who had access to the previously available Ansys Discovery Burst product now have access to the Ansys Cloud Burst Compute product instead.

  • Ansys Cloud now supports Ansys Notebook, a cloud-native interactive programming environment that enables you to run Ansys simulation applications directly from your web browser.

  • Ansys Cloud plan subscriptions now include a set number of cloud user seats in addition to product seats, enabling administrators to more closely control access to Ansys Cloud resources.

    • To be eligible to use Ansys Cloud, a user must have a cloud user seat assigned to them. See Grant Users Access to Ansys Cloud in the Ansys Cloud Subscription Quick Start Guide.
    • To use a cloud product, a user must have both a cloud user seat and product seat assigned to them. A user can only be granted access to a product if there are product seats available. See Grant Users Access to Products in the Ansys Cloud Subscription Quick Start Guide.
  • Users can now request full access to cloud products directly from Ansys Engineering Portal. When a request is submitted, the following workflow is launched:

    • Administrators receive an email notifying them of the request.
    • Requests appear in Ansys Admin Portal under Product access > Access requests.
    • Administrators approve or deny the request.
    • The requestor receives an email notifying them of the decision.
