Global Composites

Updates to the Global Composites data table, part of the Advanced Materials - Composites data bundle.

Over 550 materials, providing material property information for composite materials and their constituent parts, covering resins, fibers, lamina and laminates. It contains key property data from materials manufacturer datasheets providing information about the materials composition, mechanical properties, typical uses and processing information.

  • 75 new records covering:
    • Over 50 laminates: Including new laminate types for Epoxy/Carbon fiber stitched fabric and polyetheretherketone (PEEK)/glass.
    • 12 resins: Including new resin types for Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) and Polyetherimide (PEI).
    • 12 fibers: Including a new fiber type for Glass fiber.
  • New fiber-specific attributes and data added to enable searching and selection on fiber-specific properties:
    • Filament diameter
    • Chemical composition
    • Tow twist
    • Tow cross-sectional area
    • Approximate yield
    • Linear density
  • Links have been added between laminates and their constituents to enable the relationships between resins, reinforcements, and laminates to be more clearly distinguished.
