Selection Settings

Change how generic records are treated, and how the records with missing or estimated data values during the selection process are handled in Settings > Selection.

By default, records will:

  • Fail a selection stage if they do not have a data value for a selection attribute.
  • Pass a selection stage if a data value for a selection attribute is estimated.
  • Fail a selection stage if they are generic (folder-level) records.

Whether or not to include generic records is applied across all Selection Projects, whereas the data value specific selection options apply to specific Selection Projects that have a Database and Subset set.

Tip: Selection attributes are the material properties plotted on the X- or Y-Axis of a Chart Stage, or which have criteria applied to them in a Limit Stage.
To access the label settings, Click Settings and select Selection.
  • To pass records which have no data (listed on the datasheet as 'Not Applicable'), select Pass records with no data.
  • To fail records with an estimated data value, select Fail estimated records.
  • To include generic records in selection results, select Include generic records.
Note: If the value of a functional attribute is 'Out Of Range', then it is treated as 'Not Applicable' and the Pass records with no data setting applies. The listed value of functional attributes depends on the Project parameters.

Records that pass selection with no data are indicated in the selection results by a warning triangle . Hover over the record to see which attributes are missing data.
