Adding user-defined material records to an Eco Audit project

Create a custom material to use in your Eco Audit project.

Any user-defined record you create can be saved in both Selection Project (.ces) and Eco Audit Product Definition (.prd) files. All user-defined records in your project will be saved as part of the Product Definition file, not just the records included in a Product. Only user-defined records added to the MaterialUniverse table can be used in Eco Audit projects.

There are no required properties for records used in Eco Audit, but if a property used by Eco Audit is missing from a user-defined record:

A red exclamation mark may appear next to the record name in the BoM.
Calculations which use the property may use a default value instead.
Any options associated with the property will not appear in the BoM.

The table below lists the properties used by Eco Audit and what happens when their values are missing.

Generic material class	Default value used: Other Typical % is not included in the Recycled content options. Determines which options appear under Primary process and Secondary process.
Price	Default value used: 0
Embodied energy, primary production (virgin grade)	Default value used: 0 Cannot specify Recycled content percentage. Cannot define a custom process.
Climate change (CO₂-eq), primary production (virgin grade)	Default value used: 0 Cannot specify Recycled content percentage. Cannot define a custom process.
Recycle Embodied energy, recycling Climate change (CO₂-eq), recycling	Recycle is not included in the End of Life options. Typical % and user-specified percentages are not included in the Recycled content options.
Recycle fraction in current supply	Typical % is not included in the Recycled content options.
Downcycle	Downcycle is not included in the End of Life options.
Combust for energy recovery Heat of combustion (net) Combustion CO₂	Combustion is not included in the End of Life options.
Landfill	Landfill is not included in the End of Life options.
