General

Go to Admin > General > Home Page Files to download the latest database and Profile home page definitions from the MI application server.

Home page files

Home page files for the databases and Profiles in your Granta MI system are stored on the application server.

To make home pages available in MI Viewer, a copy of the files (HTML, image, CSS, and any other associated files), is stored on disk in MI Viewer.  Whenever database or Profile home page files are added or modified on your MI Server, the updated files must be copied from the into the MI Viewer application by clicking Refresh home pages.

The home page files are copied into a subfolder in the MI Viewer web application installation folder, typically:

C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\mi\homepagefiles\<database or Profile key>

The structure of the files and folders that define the home page will be reproduced in this subfolder, which is published as a standard web folder.

Granta MI Administration and Configuration describes how to create home page files for databases, Profiles, and for the MI Viewer application.

Language localization

The text that appears in dialogs, menus, prompts, error messages, buttons, and menus in MI Viewer are integrated within the application.

If required, alternative strings can be defined in XML files or Microsoft’s .resx format and loaded into the application, overriding the standard strings in the product, for example to give the product a more customized feel. New or updated language resource files must be placed into <MIViewerRootFolder>\languages and then loaded from there into MI Viewer by clicking Reload Language resource files.

User roles

Click View user roles to view information about your Granta MI roles and privileges.

The following information is listed:
