Introduction
Granta MI Materials Gateway enables data and tools from a Granta MI materials information management system to be accessed directly from within CAD or CAE applications. You can access the Granta database system, choose materials, and assign or import those materials to your design or simulation model.
A Granta MI Pro deployment consists of:
- An application server running the Granta MI materials data management software. All users can access the Explore, Favorites, and Custom Searches web applications running on this server via a browser, with additional data management applications available to MI Pro Materials Data Owners.
- A Microsoft SQL Server instance or cloud database platform that contains the Granta MI databases. The SQL Server instance may be located on the MI application server, or on a separate database server.
- Desktop clients running Granta MI Materials Gateway, a client application which enables users to access materials data in the MI Pro Design and Simulation Materials database directly from within CAD and CAE applications.
MI Materials Gateway is installed on the same machine as the CAD or CAE application, as an add-in to the software, and connects to the Granta MI application server.
