Service Layer address

To connect to your Granta MI, MI Materials Gateway requires the URL of the Service Layer.

This will have the following format:

http://your.granta.server/mi_servicelayer

where your.granta.server is the location of the Granta MI application server.

We recommend that you specify this URL as a default setting when you install Gateway.

• If you install Gateway using the Setup Manager, you are prompted to enter the URL of the Service Layer instance.
• In a central deployment scenario, you can specify the default Service Layer address by editing a client-side configuration file. (See Client-side configuration.)

Optionally, you can enforce this default to prevent users from changing it. If it is not enforced, users will be able to enter an alternative Service Layer address in the Settings page of the Gateway client application.

(Note that if you don’t specify a default Service Layer address, Gateway users will be unable to connect to Granta MI until they enter a valid URL in the Gateway UI.)
