Introduction

Granta MI Materials Gateway enables data and tools from a Granta MI materials information management system to be accessed directly from within CAD, CAE, or PLM applications. You can access the Granta database system, choose materials, and assign or import those materials to your design or simulation model.

If optional features are enabled, CAD and PLM users can also assign manufacturing processes, surface treatments, or colors. A variety of analytics and data output tools are available, depending on the Granta MI modules licensed for your corporate installation.

MI Materials Gateway is a client application that is installed on the same machine as the CAD, CAE, or PLM application, as an add-in to the software, and connects to your Granta MI application server.

In order to install and configure Granta MI Materials Gateway, as part of a Granta MI Enterprise deployment, you will need administrator level permissions in your deployment.
