Contents Hints, tips, and troubleshooting » GeneralPrint page General Hints, tips, and troubleshooting that apply to MI Materials Gateway on all or multiple host integrations. This section contains the following topics:Problems with blocked zip filesWhen zip files are downloaded or moved within a network, they can become blocked by the operating system. You can verify this by looking at the properties of the zip file.Cross-domain Service Layer setup for GatewayTo ensure that Gateway clients from one domain (Domain A) can connect to the Service Layer on a machine in a different domain (Domain B), the relevant users from Domain A must be added to a group with Granta MI Read permissions on Domain B.Verifying the Service Layer connectionIn order to communicate with MI Server, you must be connected to the MI Service Layer. You can use a web browser to verify that your Service Layer connection is working correctly.Troubleshooting authenticationConnection to host application fails because port is unavailableMaterials Gateway uses a pre-defined (hard-coded) port range when connecting to host applications via http server. If there is no port available in the pre-defined range, Gateway will be unable to connect to the host application.Changes to default settings do not appear in GatewaySome settings that can be configured on the server (gateway.config) are also available as user settings in MI Materials Gateway. If these settings are modified, the changes are cached locally and override the defaults on the server, so any subsequent changes on the server will have no effect.Material card import failsIf you have problems importing materials, you can use Gateway diagnostic logging options to obtain more information about the unsuccessful import.Troubleshooting host part attribute mappingIf host part attribute mappings aren't working as expected, then the Gateway log file may give more information. Some problems that may be encountered while configuring host part attribute mapping are shown in the table below.Troubleshooting host material attribute mapping « Hints, tips, and troubleshootingProblems with blocked zip files »
